I joined Graphicriver as an author 3 years ago, and now I also contribute to the Elements Marketplace. My main focus is creating print templates for creative and design professionals and industries, such as magazines, catalogs, brochures, proposals, reports, flyers and portfolios.
To what do you attribute your success – how is your business unique?
I try to create high-quality graphics resources with a clean and modern design that helps creative professionals accelerate their workflow. I always try to improve and learn with every template I make.
At what moment did you decide to pursue your business?
I wanted to work on my own and get more freedom, so I decided to leave my old job and dedicate myself to this!
What do you love about your work and why?
Freedom. Without a doubt, it is what I would highlight the most, in all aspects, both in the way of living, as in the way of working or in decision-making.
What’s the most challenging thing about your work?
I think it would be the competition. There are many authors who do a good job, but you have to get and keep your audience. This can also be a good thing because it makes you try harder.
What or who inspires you and why?
I am inspired by minimalist design for its freshness and simplicity, abstract art for its strength and personality, and ethnic decoration for its warmth and sophistication.
What are some of the biggest lessons that have impacted your work?
Do not settle. If you want to change something, you should try it or it will never change. Also, always keeping your feet in reality, is important.
What tools and resources (online or offline) do you use? e.g apps, editing tools.
I would highlight two in particular: Unsplash for its images and Google Fonts for its fonts – these tools help support almost all of my products.
What’s your most memorable client/customer story on Envato?
There have been clients who have requested personalized help and I remember two specific cases that were really grateful with the attention and help that I offered – this made me feel really good as an author and creative.
What is your advice to other authors regarding how to create a successful portfolio?
Create, above all, quality and unique items.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I love to travel, and I love being around nature and music. I like to have new experiences, to explore new places and to learn from these opportunities. In particular, I also like hiking a lot and enjoy live music – if it’s outdoors, it’s the best!
What are your plans for the future?
I have focused exclusively on print templates for a while, so in the future, I may look to experiment with new categories. Watch this space!
