SuzanaTArt aka Suzana Trifkovic, is a woman of many talents having previously worked as a photographer, graphic designer, music producer, and writer before venturing into the world of video.

Passionate about learning and evolving as a videographer, Suzana is always on the lookout for new trends to fuel her next creative project. We caught up with her to discuss all things video, as well as find out her top tips for capturing unique 3D video content.

What’s your background and how did you get into video creation as SuzanaTArt?

I come from a creative background and have always been interested in various forms of art. Initially, I started out as a photographer and graphic designer, then as a music producer and writer.

I also ventured into the film industry but about two years ago I discovered my passion for 3D design so I began exploring 3D art, animation, and motion graphics, which eventually led me to try selling my videos on Envato Market and Elements.

From there, my skills developed further and I experimented with different techniques and styles to create engaging and compelling videos.

What do you love about working in video and why?

What I love about video creation is the ability to tell a story, convey a message and even make an impact through visuals and audio. I enjoy the creative process of bringing ideas to life using animation. I also love the challenge of finding ways to create tiny stories that captivate an audience and hold their attention.

What inspires your work? Are there any emerging trends that you love at the moment?

I find inspiration in many places, starting from personal experiences, emotions, nature, and current events. I also follow the work of other creatives in my field, such as animators, filmmakers, and graphic designers as this sparks new ideas.

As for emerging trends, I’m particularly excited about vibrant ecstatic colors, retro style and vertical animations.

What main programs, tools, or techniques do you use to create your work?

To begin creating animations and motion graphics in Blender. That’s where I set up the environment, lights, and start modeling, and once the entire scene is ready, I proceed with animation and then video rendering. I also use various plugins and scripts to streamline my workflow and improve the quality of my work.

For further video editing and post-production, I use a variety of tools depending on the complexity of my video. I mainly use Adobe Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, and FilmoraPro.

What’s the key thing for video creators to keep in mind when capturing engaging, unique video content?

I believe the key to creating engaging video content is to have a clear message or story to convey. Don’t chase trends all the time and use visuals and audio to enhance and support your message. It is also extremely important to keep in mind the target audience and adjust the video content to their interests. Finally, creativity and originality are crucial for creating unique content that stands out in a crowded market.

Working in a male-dominated industry, can you name any challenges (or obstacles) that you face as a woman?

Unfortunately, there are still gender-related challenges that women face in the creative industry, particularly in male-dominated fields like video creation, 3D design, and game development. These include being undervalued or dismissed simply due to gender, and facing discrimination, in some cases even harassment.

I believe that women have a unique perspective and can bring fresh ideas to the table, which is why it’s important to continue to advocate for gender equality in the industry.

I find the Envato community very inclusive which is not the case on many other platforms.

What advice would you give to people trying to make it in the creative industry?

My advice would be to believe in yourself and your talents, never give up on your dreams and surround yourself with supportive and encouraging people who inspire and help you grow. It’s also important to continue learning and improving, keep your mind open, observe, and stay up-to-date.
